Mandatory Continuing Airworthiness Information (MCAI)
The Belize Department of Civil Aviation (BDCA) directly adopts Mandatory Continuing Airworthiness Information (MCAI) applicable to aircraft, powerplants, propellers and any other aeronautical product registered in Belize. It is the responsibility of the Operators/Owners to access, review and monitor updated MCAI applicable to aircraft, powerplants, propellers and any other aeronautical products. The time frame to accomplish MCAI is determined by the issuing authority. Operators/Owners must independently ensure timely accomplishment of all applicable MCAI work instructions without the reliance of bi-weekly email reminders or notifications from airworthiness inspectors. Compliance of MCAI will be verified by Airworthiness Inspectors through routine or scheduled inspections.
The various Safety Publication Tools (SPTs) are web applications developed to provide a searchable and printable list of: Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Safety Information Bulletins (SIBs), and Safety Directives (SDs) published or supported by the various States of Design (SOD) (as applicable), allowing subscribed users to receive automatic notifications about new publications/amendments. MCAI from the various SOD can be consulted and obtained through the links detailed below:
EASA: https://ad.easa.europa.eu/
FAA: https://drs.faa.gov/browse/
TCCA (Canada): https://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-
CASA (Australia): https://www.casa.gov.au/
UK CAA (United Kingdom): https://www.caa.co.uk/
Based on BCAR 39.10, the BDCA as State of Registry, in coordination with the SOD, will issue an AD when:
(1) There are urgent reasons related to operational safety; or
(2) An aircraft has been modified due to unique airworthiness requirements.
