INTERNATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION DAY – 7TH DECEMBER, 2019

The Belize Department of Civil Aviation joined the world in celebrating International Civil Aviation Organization’s 75th anniversary of the International Civil Aviation Day 2019.

This year’s celebrations were held under the theme: “75 Years of Connecting the World”. This theme, that celebrates ICAO’s 75th Anniversary, was selected to help draw attention to the fact that safe, secure and rapid connectivity is the core capability of aviation’s worldwide network, and the key-value offering from which all other international aviation benefits derive – whether commercial, cultural or personal.

The purpose of this global celebration was to generate and reinforce worldwide awareness of the importance of international civil aviation in the social and economic development of States, and of the role of ICAO in promoting the safety, efficiency, and regularity of international air transport.

This year’s activities in Belize included radio talk shows; announcements related to international civil aviation topics and a formal lunch with aviation stakeholders. Awards of recognition were also made to some persons who have contributed to the growth and development of Civil Aviation in Belize. The activities took place at the Department of Civil Aviation’s Building at the Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport.

The Belize Department of Civil Aviation hereby takes this opportunity to thank all those persons who are part of our Belize aviation community and hope that they are successful and safe in the upcoming year.
